Paddy Tipping, MP for Sherwood, will mark the start of the work on the new £3m Rainworth Health Centre by cutting the turf at a special ceremony on Friday 24 March. The new Health Centre will provide purpose designed and built accommodation for Dr Corbyn and Partners and Newark and Sherwood Primary Care Trust’s community nursing staff. The Health Centre will include, amongst others, facilities for minor surgery, counselling, podiatry and a pharmacy. The Rainworth Library will also be re-located in the new building.
Mr Tipping said, “I am delighted that work is now starting on the new centre which will provide excellent modern accommodation benefiting patients and staff.”
Opening Planned for April 2007
Construction will take approximately 12 months, with the new Health Centre becoming operational in April 2007. It is being built adjacent to the current Health Centre on Warsop Lane, Rainworth.
